Elsa Rosewood found her husband, Nevil Lobo, was cheating on her. Today was Nevil’s birthday. Elsa had spent the whole day preparing a authentic dinner for him. Just then his forgotten phone buzzed with a text. She picked it up and saw a message from the lady he was cheating on her with. “A cake for you baby! Surprise! Tonight is going to be one of the best of your life.” Attached was a photo of the cake. What came next was another thing Elsa had to deal with, the woman had sent her pic too without the face being visible. She knew that her elegant body fascinated Nevil, and he could almost resist anything for her. The woman wore a peach shirt with a black pant, her body looked stunning and elegant. She was speechlessly beautiful. There were rumors among everyone that wealthy businessmen tend to choose  women with elegant beauty while choosing a lover. Elsa’s grip on the phone tightened until her knuckles turned white. Soon, another message came. “Mr. Lobo, meet me at Blue caves hotel I want to celebrate your birthday.” It was Nevil’s birthday and his mistress had planned a celebration for him. Grabbing her purse, Elsa headed straight for Blue caves hotel. She had to see this woman with her own eyes. The monstress who had stolen her husband. When Elsa arrived at the hotel she was ready to storm in. But, before she could she spotted her parents, Allen Rosewood and Anna Grace. Shocked she approached them. “Dad mom what are you doing here?” The two froze for a moment, before exchanging glances. Their eyes flickered as they said, “Oh! Elsy, your sister is back from abroad. We came here to drop her.” Elena Rosewood! Through the glass mirror she saw Elena inside and froze. Inside Elena was wearing the same clothes as seen on Nevil’s phone. So his mistress was her sister. Elena had always been as elegant as ever, pretty, absolutely model like. Her body figure was enough to entice any man on earth. Many men worshipped her beauty. Now that famous beauty had captured Nevil. Elsa almost laughed at the absurdity of it. She turned to her parents saying, “So am I the last one to know?” Allen’s face twisted awkwardly. “Elsy, Mr. Lobo never liked you.” Anna spoke sternly, “Exactly do know how many women want him, and will sell their fortune to be with him? Better your sister than some stranger.” Upon hearing that Elsa clenched her fists. “I’m your daughter too.” She barked. With that, she stormed out of the place. Just then Anna’s voice rang out behind her, “Elsy tell me something has Mr. Lobo ever touched you? Elsa froze, and her feet turned numb. Allen said sharply, “Don’t act like we owe you anything. Back the Mr. Lobo and Elena were the most famous couple in everyone’s eyes. We only asked you to marry him on Elena’s behalf after he fell into a coma from the car accident.” Anna looked at Elsa with disgust and spoke,  “Look at yourself, Elsa. You were a housewife for 3 long years, running around your husband. Meanwhile Elena is a lead model now, a true peacock. You are just a little bag of garbage and you look as good as muck. Be reasonable and give Mr. Lobo back to Elena.” Those words stung Elsa like a sward, her heart was torn into pieces. She held back her tears and left the hotel immediately. By the time Elsa returned home it was dark. She had given her house maid, Lydia the day off. The house was empty with no lights, leaving it desolate. Elsa sat at the dinning table in darkness. The table was set with authentic, feast food but it had gone cold by now. Her homemade cake baked with honey flavor remained untouched. The words she had written on the cake hurt her badly, “Happy Birthday Honey.” In bold. Nevil and Elena had always been the it couple in their circle. Everyone knew that Elena the hot wrap had been the love of Nevil’s life. He was obsessed with no other woman as her. But 3 years ago, a sudden car accident left Nevil in coma and Elena vanished without any trace. The Rosewood family had brought Elsa from the nearby village, and forced her to marry Nevil. When she found out that the man lying in the hospital bed was Nevil, she couldn’t stop herself from saying no the offer. After the wedding Nevil remained in coma for 3 long years. During that time Elsa took great care of him. Never giving up on the unfaithful vegetable. She gave up going out, socializing. Her only goal was his recovery. She became a housewife dedicated to nothing but him. In the end, her hard work brought him back to life. Elsa lit the candles on the cake with the lighter. The dim glow flickered casting her reflection in the mirror in front of her. She looked at herself the old rag, a dull housewife and dark circles underneath her eyes. She looked lifeless, boring, and unremarkable. The woman flashed no exceptional qualities, she had lost them long ago. Meanwhile Elena had flourished, into a top model of the XXXY studio. She looked young elegant and beautiful. Elsa was an ugly toad while Elena was the peacock. So, the last 3 years had been a total waste for Elsa. Nevil didn’t love her but she loved him a lot. There is  a famous saying that, the one who fell in love first is the looser in the relationship, and today Nevil had made her lose everything. She sobbed bitterly and blew out the candles. The house was engulfed by darkness again. Just then, headlights pierced the darkness, as Nevil’s Mercedes sped up the driveway and parked in the glass garage. Elsa’s heart pounded, he was back. She had thought that he wouldn’t return back tonight. Soon the bungalows front door opened. A tall, handsome man came inside. Nevil was home. The Lobo family had been royalty in Goa. Nevil the heir of the Lobo family, had also been a  business prodigy since childhood. By the age of 17 he had earned dual master’s degree from the prestigious university. By the time he reached adulthood, his first company had made its way on the financial street. Now he sat at the hilt of Lobo Group, crowned as the Goa’s wealthiest man. Nevil stode in with his long legs. His voice was low, yet pleasant. “Why didn’t you turn on the lights?” With the flick of his hand he turned on the lights. The harsh light made Elsa squint.
